Panthers Reportedly Ready to Do Whatever It Takes to Trade for Texans QB Deshaun Watson

Can one player turn a franchise around?

It’s almost sounding like the Panthers are willing to find out, as reports are out that the Cats are doing just about whatever it takes in order to make a deal with the Houston Texans to get their hands on 25-year-old franchise QB Deshaun Watson.

After seeing the demise of Cam Newton and last season Teddy Bridgewater struggle, the Panthers want to upgrade the position and have someone under center they can count on for years to come.

Pro Football Network’s Tony Pauline spoke about how the Cats are clearly a team in the mix for Watson, and how they are going to push the issue to get Watson.

“This is a person in the know, and they told me that the Panthers will do anything they can to acquire Watson, and they will pay any price to acquire Deshaun Watson,” Pauline said.

“Their new GM Scott Fitterer, who came from the Seattle Seahawks, is on board with trading for Watson. More than anything else, and most importantly is, I was told the owner wants to make it happen.”

Imagine the marketing chances the team will have, as well as how quickly the team on offense will upgrade to another level with Watson playing at quarterback and being happy.

So what all is it going to take to get Watson to the Panthers? No doubt it’ll start with the 8th overall pick, but there’s likely going to be a lot more involved.

At the end of the day, it could be worth it – and it could put the Panthers right back on the map as a contender in the NFC.
