The NFL free agency period is underway, and the Panthers have re-signed two of their own players. The Panthers signed fullback Brad Hoover to a three-year deal and also re-signed defensive back Dante Wesley. The popular Hoover, who was hours away from becoming an unrestricted free agent, is still regarded as a strong blocker. Wesley had his 2007 season cut short by injuries. Meanwhile, ESPN.com reports the Panthers may be on the verge of trading former Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kris Jenkins to the New York Jets. Former Panthers running back DeShaun Foster has agreed to a two-year deal with San Francisco.
