PANTHERS—“We’re Done Should’ve Won-ing”

Victory over Giants
Panthers shut-out the Giants at BOA with a 38-0 Win
Panthers 1-2

greg-hardy
G. Hardy aka Kraken: “It was a big deal. We had to come out here and win this one. We had to be tight in our fundamentals and send a message…today’s our awakening and we’re about to go on a run.”

Defense took control. Hardy: “We came out and did our jobs. We feel like the last two weeks we didn’t produce—as a unit, as individuals—the whole defense; we had to come out here with attitude, play together, and send a message…we’re done should’ve won-ing.” Hardy: the Panthers have one goal in mind: “Win at all cost.”

Hardy was one of three players to receive a game ball after the game. The other two players: B. Lafell and D. Williams.

Cam Newton believes the win began earlier in the week with a string of strong practices in preparation for the game and the overall attitude of the team. Cam: “This was a big team win today.” “This is one step for us in the right direction.” Cam said this win will help boost the teams ego in a positive way—it will give the swagger and confidence needed for the next game, an away game on the road in AZ.

Cam: Guys like D. Williams and S. Smith (and others) were able to get it done and get the Panthers over-the-hump.
Cam: “The bars been set, as far as our capability and what we can do. It’s just up to us to live up to those expectations each and every week.”
“For us, it was a great win. But it was not a perfect game.” Cam critiques his own play ability and finds fault with a few of his throws; on one instance a misread throwing a “senseless interception”; “I just hung the ball up there and put the ball in jeopardy.” Cam: “But for us, we just have to continuously keep getting better.” Cam: Our mentality-“We can win and we will win.”

Rivera
Rivera: “The guys really wanna win. To win games like this, it’s because they deserve it, they deserve the opportunity. These guys have gone thru a lot in the last three seasons and to win a game like this, especially a team coached by Tom Coughlin, says something about who they are. And these guys will persevere. And hopefully, this is the catalyst for us to get rolling.” “This is a team victory.” “We have by no means reached where we want to be.” The Panthers will continue to practice and improve. “The winning is in the preparation.” The win is something to build off of.

t coughlin
NY Giants HC T. Coughlin: Panthers front four did an “awesome job”. “The majority of the time you’re talking about a four-man rush, not anything other than that.” “We had seven sacks and I bet the QB got hit more than 20 times…” “The Panthers were winning the one-on-one battles.” “Hardy and Johnson made the QB’s life miserable.” “We got our butt kicked.” “We got man-handled, quite frankly.”

Jordan Gross: The defensive front-four are a “tenacious bunch.” The secondary played outstanding. “The defense led the charge today.” “Coming off a win is going to be helpful for us to get ready to go (after the bye week).”
