Panthers Sign CB Munnerlyn And S Mitchell; Add WR/KR Ginn

UPDATE: As of 5:20 EST, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Panthers have added kick returner/wide receiver Tedd Ginn Jr. with a one-year deal.

The Panthers were a busy team today, as they have brought back cornerback Captain Munnerlyn and signed unrestricted free agent safety Mike Mitchell from the Raiders.

Both players come to the Cats with one-year deals.

In addition, the club is expected to ink former 49ers wide receiver Ted Ginn to a one-year deal.

Panthers coach Ron Rivera says, “Mitchell should provide competition in the secondary and we know Captain is a tough, hard-nosed competitor capable of making big plays.”

Munnerlyn played in all 16 games with 11 starts for the Panthers in 2012.

Mitchell joins the Panthers after playing the first four seasons of his career with the Raiders. He has nine career starts.
