RB Stewart Back at Practice; Likely to Go Sunday

Running back Jonathan Stewart was back at practice fully for the first time in about three weeks on Wednesday, leading many to think he will go Sunday against the Saints.

Stewart didn’t give an indication if he thinks he will be able to go – “We’ll see,” he said. “Only time will tell.”

The back sprained his ankle against the New York Jets in the third preseason game. Head coach Ron Rivera said Stewart participated fully in practice, which was partially closed to the media, and took his normal amount of reps.

“He started a little slow in terms of cutting,” Rivera said. “He was a little apprehensive, but I think as practice went on you could see him loosen up more and more. We’ll see how he is in the morning.”
