Panthers That Need to Play Well the Rest of Preseason to Make the Team

By Josh Moore

Armati Edwards– This is the first year since his rookie season that he has had to worry about not making the team. He used to be a mainly a special teams player. In the 2012 draft the panthers went out and got Joe Adams. Adams is one of the best punt returners the NFL has ever seen. He will need to make it as the 3rd string receiver or else he will be cut.

Prediction: Edwards will make the team and can compete for playing time this year.

Olindo Mare- Mare was the kicker for the panthers last year and needs to have two great games if he is going to keep his spot. Last year Mare was one of the worst kickers in the NFL and failed to come through in the clutch. He is about to be run out of the league by Justin Medlock. If Mare does not play great for the last games he will be unemployed.

Prediction: Mare will not make the team due to how many big kicks he missed last year.

Seyi Ajirotutu– He is trying to make the same position as Edwards and is trying to become a key player in the panther’s receiver core. At 6-3 he has good size and can become a good player but will be battling with players with much more experience.

Prediction: No he will not make the team due to the panthers deep veteran receivers.
