Winners and Losers in Panther’s 2nd Preseason Game

By Josh Moore

Charles Johnson: All night Johnson was putting pressure on Ryan Tannehill and not allowing him any were to thrown. If he could not get to Tannehill he was knocking down passes.

Luke Kuechly: He has been showing us why the panthers picked him with the ninth overall pick. He was all over the field making tackles and knocking down passes. He looks like he is going to make a big impact for the Panthers.

Cam Newton: It is not a surprise that Newton is in this category but after his poor performance against the Texans he showed no sign of a slump. He only played three drives but put points on the board in all of them.

Amini Silatolu: At Midwestern State he played offensive Tackle but the panthers have him starting at guard. He did have some holding calls on him but he just needs more practice at the position. With this good he looks like he has looked up the starting guard for the panthers.

Brandon LaFell: He needed to show Newton that he could be a good 2nd receiver. He had a holding penalty deep in the red zone on a play were it was not needed. Also him and Cam Newton were not on the same page throughout the game.

Overall: The Panthers had a good game but one stat that is unacceptable is that the panthers had 17 penalties. They had lots of drives stalled because they had a penalty.
