Panthers Acquire OL Bruce Campbell from Oakland for RB Goodson

The Panthers have traded fourth-year running back Mike Goodson to the Raiders in exchange for offensive lineman Bruce Campbell.

A fourth round pick out of Texas A&M in 2009, Goodson has 125 carries for 501 yards and three touchdowns, 43 receptions for 329 yards and a career kick return average of 21.7 yards during his 28-game career. Goodson finished the 2011 season on injured reserve with a hamstring injury and is scheduled to make $615,000 in base salary in 2012, which is the final year of his rookie contract.

In Oakland, Goodson will compete with Taiwan Jones and Lonyae Miller for the No. 2 role behind Darren McFadden and adds depth at kick returner behind Jacoby Ford and Bryan McCann.

Campbell was a fourth round pick out of Maryland in 2010 who has appeared in just 14 games over his first two seasons in the league. The 6-foot-6, 315-pound Campbell has played in just 18 snaps at the guard position in those games and Panthers general manager Marty Hurney says the team intends to move the athletic Campbell to offensive tackle.
