The Panthers announced that they have signed linebacker Jason Phillips to a one-year contract extension.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

A 2009 fifth-round pick out of TCU by the Baltimore Ravens, Phillips spent his rookie season on injured reserve before recording five tackles in nine games in 2010. Waived by the Ravens, Phillips was claimed by the Panthers in Week 2. Phillips was credited with four tackles in four games before landing on injured reserve with a calf injury.
