Cam Newton Already in the Hall of Fame

Ok, not him, but the ball he was carrying when he broke the single season QB rushing TD record this Sunday against the Tampa Bay Bucs.

Accorfding to this article from the Gaston Gazette the ball, which Newton originally gave away to a 16 year-old fan sporting a “Ms. Newton” shirt, was later retrieved by the Panthers’ staff and is now bound for the Hall Of Fame.

In addition to breaking the 34 year old record held by Steve Grogan, Cam inched closer to Erik Dickerson’s rookie record of 18 rushing toucdowns. Also, thrrough 12 games Newton has amassed 3,297 yards; putting him on pace for 4,396 yards for the year, and well withing striking distance of Peyton Manning’s rookie passing record of 3,739 yards. He is currently 8th out of all QBs in the NFL in passing yards for the season.

Can there be any argument now that Cam should be the Rookie of the Year?
