Panthers Stay Hungry

There are very few analysts that truly believe the Carolina Panthers will make a big splash when the games count in September. I would liken them to a cat on the prowl. The Panthers are definately going to have to be an ambush team in order to compete this season.

I feel the Panthers must pounce on their opponent early and keep the down for the count. An early pick or breakout run will almost be necessary for them to stay atop the scoreboard. Being in the right place and executing the objective is paramount. Exchanging blow for blow with the Saints or Falcons is not the way to go. They might be able to keep up at first but an experienced high power team will sustain their tempo when the Panthers inexperience will begin to waiver.

Ron Rivera and his staff will put this young and hungry team in some great positions to grab the momentum of a game. The dynamic of this entire team has changed from a year ago. Long gone is the Tampa2 and Fox’s stale run-run-pass offense. That being said the big play opportunities are going to present themselves. This will put more emphasis on carrying out the game plan.

Off target deep balls and and wiffing on a Mike/Will blitz will end in tears and a worse record than the previous season. However; with great risk comes great reward. If this young team continues to catches on like they have so far its going to be enthralling. The opportunity has presented itself for these young apex predators. It is now down to preparation and instincts. If all goes well I believe we could see the Panthers play more than sixteen games this year.
