Panthers Haven’t Heard From HBO about “Hard Knocks”

On Thursday night, Panthers Pro Bowl center Ryan Kalil ramped up speculation that HBO’s “Hard Knocks” series could head to Panthers training camp this summer.

Panthers spokesman Charlie Dayton tells Joseph Person of the Charlotte Observer that he has no knowledge of the team being contacted by the series’ producers.

Person acknowledges the appeal that first overall pick Cam Newton brings to the Panthers appearing on the series, but is skeptical of owner Jerry Richardson or general manager Marty Hurney being on board with welcoming a large film crew to film first-year head coach Ron Rivera’s staff during a potentially abbreviated training camp.
