Breakdown of the Third Day of the Draft for the Panthers breaks down day three for the Cats, and gives their take on some background on the players the team picked.

Round 4, Pick 1 (98) Brandon Hogan DB 5’10” 192 West Virginia 5.8

Pick Analysis: The Panthers need to add speed and athleticism to their secondary, and Hogan gives them a cornerback with the traits to fill the need. He will compete for time in their sub-package, while giving them another athlete to incorporate into their kick-coverage units.

Round 5, Pick 1 (132) Kealoha Pilares WR 5’10” 199 Hawaii 3.1

Pick Analysis: The Panthers continue to add intriguing options to their receiving corps with the selection of Pilares. He will jump into the mix as a possible fourth- or fifth-receiver on their roster.

Round 6, Pick 1 (166) Lawrence Wilson LB 6’1″ 229 Connecticut 4.6 Video

Pick Analysis: The Panters add depth with selection of Wilson. He will compete as a backup/special teamer.

Round 6, Pick 38 (203) (Compensatory Selection) Zachary Williams OL 6’3″ 309 Washington St. 2.0

Pick Analysis:
The Panthers continue to try and find pieces for their offense and in Williams they’ll get a guy with a mean streak who could develop into something in the NFL.

Round 7, Pick 41 (244) (Compensatory Selection) Lee Ziemba OL 6’8″ 317 Auburn 6.0
