Panthers Submit a Request to Speak to Giants DC Perry Fewell

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that both the Panthers and the Browns have submitted requests to interview Giants defensive coordinator Perry Fewell for their vacant head coaching positions.

Interviewing Fewell satisfies the requirements of the “Rooney Rule” but Fewell has impressive credentials. He was defensive coordinator in Buffalo from 2006 through 2009 and added the title of interim head coach in 2009. Fewell just completed his first year as defensive coordinator for the Giants.

That position has been lucky for other coordinators looking to move up as Rams head coach Steve Spagnolo was Tom Coughlin’s defensive coordintor before going to the Rams and has the Super Bowl ring to prove it.
