Some Helped and Some Hurt Themselves at Camp This Summer

Steve Reed at Carolina Growl has a great article up about the players that hurt and helped themselves at Panthers Camp. Here are two that helped themselves in Reed’s eyes:

2. QB Matt Moore. Amidst a ton of national support for Jimmy Clausen, all Moore has done is go out and have a terrific camp and make this his football team. Moore is an easy-going kid, but I get a sense that he’s plenty motivated to show folks that he deserves to be the No. 1 guy in Carolina. He’s locked down the starting job and with a 6-2 career record should be given a pretty long leash by coach John Fox.

1. DE Greg Hardy. Let’s begin by saying that if you’re a sixth-round draft pick you’re not a lock to make the roster. In fact, the Panthers have four of them this year and not all of them will make it through cuts. But Hardy is different. He’s already a lock after just one impressive preseason game against Baltimore. He looks more like a high first-round draft pick than a sixth. The kid has all of the tools and he’s already working some with the first team at left end with Tyler Brayton out with an ankle injury. The future is incredibly bright for this kid.
