Panthers Talking to QB Jake Delhomme About Extension

The Charlotte Observer reports that the Panthers are talking to QB Jake Delhomme about a new contract:

The Carolina Panthers are talking to quarterback Jake Delhomme’s agent about a possible contract extension, but both sides say it’s too early to say whether a new deal will be reached. Delhomme, 34, is in the final year of his contract and is scheduled to count more than $11 million against the Panthers’ salary cap next season. The team could significantly reduce his 2009 cap number – perhaps by as much as 50 percent – with a multi-year extension.

There was a lot of backlash at Delhomme after the playoff setback to the Cardinals in which he was responsible for six turnovers. Even with that outing, the Panthers seem committed to him being the QB for the next few seasons.

We will be a great backup QB.

As for myself, at watching games, yes some is Jakes fault and then some are the rest of the team. Its all a team effort. To put blame on someone it better be proved on facts not of thoughts.
The Panthers has talent that has had bad breaks, and when that happens well fingers are pointed.
Me, I’m 51 years old, and have followed cussed and you can imagine what else, for I am a Saints fan. You have to stay behind your team no matter what. One team does have to win and one has to lose. To me they are all winners. If they wouldnt be, then they would be home and not playing.

    So much for that ,
another reason i’m writing, if and saying if, can it be possible to get a signed jersey from Jake. My grandson would have a fit all over Lafayette, La. if he can make that happen. Me, it would make my day for me yes, but a grand Christmas for him.

Thanks if can and if not do understand.
