
The Panthers today released cornerback Ken Lucas, this after trying for the past couple of weeks to trade him. Lucas has played the last four seasons for the Panthers, as he started 49 of 50 games, putting up 13 picks. Lucas was due to make a base salary of $5.6 million and his release will save the Panthers $2.37 million under the NFL salary cap.
