Delhomme to Stay the Starter in 09?

Don’t expect Saturday night’s miserable performance to cost Jake Delhomme his starting job next season with the Carolina Panthers. Coach John Fox said despite Delhomme’s six turnovers in Carolina’s 33-13 NFC Divisional Playoff loss to Arizona, he still views him as the team’s starting quarterback heading into the 2009 season. Fox said “I can promise you” Delhomme’s performance wouldn’t change his commitment to Delhomme in the future.

Go back and look at every loss this season and Jake is the major setback at least in the blowouts. Get rid of this slow, rag armed, second string has been and get yourself a mobile, rocket armed young man that is willing to learn and play him. Jake only plays good when he is upset. If you must keep him, kick him in the balls and call his mama a ho before every game. He was ok at best in his play but its time to move on. John Fox, the reason you have a backup QB is fo replace someone. What are you waiting for in this game? Its obvious Jake is in one of his trances or being paid off by Las Vegas. Wake up or you might be leaving too. P,S. The zone defense is not working.

John Fox has a game plan. He sticks to it even if the other team knows what it is (as the Cards did last Sat.). He doesn’t know what to do when the opponent has “our number”. He sticks to his game plan and the Panthers lose. We need a coach that can adjust/improvise.
Regarding Jake, obviously he is well respected and liked by his teammates. Maybe he should go coach somewhere because a QB he is not. Six turnovers is not a bad day, it’s Pop Warner football and not worthy of the NFL.

Jake has never been an overachiever as quarterback, but he always fit in Fox’s “run first” system. I honestly believe Jake’s term should come to an end. His performance in 3rd down situations makes him a liability to the future of the Panthers.
