Kasay Signs Four-Year Contract Extension

John Kasay, the last original Carolina Panther, signed a 4-year extension that keeps him with the team through 2012. Kasay turned 39 years old this week, and has remained a constant for Carolina since 1995. During last week’s win against the Arizona Cardinals, PK Kasay passed Hall of Famer Jan Stenerud for 8th place on the NFL’s all-time field-goals-made list with 374.

Kasay was drafted out of the University of Georgia by the Seattle Seahawks in 1991. The kicker played 4 years for Seattle, and was signed by Carolina in their inaugural year.

The Panthers kicker is only one field goal shy of tying his personal best of 22 consecutive field goals made (since last year), and is 16-16 this season alone.
