Sources in Carolina say there are great concerns about OT Jordan Gross’ health as well as the amount of time he’ll need to recover following the serious concussion he suffered in Week Four, which left him unconscious for several minutes. He was unable to continue in that game, is unlikely to play in Week Five and team insiders said they wouldn’t count him as anything more than questionable for Week Six. The Panthers could get past the Chiefs without their rock guarding the blind side of QB Jake Delhomme, but their next contest, at Tampa Bay, will be a more difficult challenge and it has greater implications since it’s an NFC South Division game.
