The Panthers will begin preparations for the 2008 NFL season later this week. Players will report to Spartanburg for the start of training camp Friday, with the first practice scheduled for Saturday morning. The Panthers are coming off a 7-and-9 season and have missed the playoffs two straight seasons. Quarterback Jake Delhomme missed much of the 2007 campaign with an elbow injury, but he threw well in a recent minicamp. Carolina will play its first preseason game Saturday, August 9th, when the Colts pay a visit to Bank of America Stadium.
