Smith Happy to Have Delhomme Back

Wide receiver Steve Smith is happy to have quarterback Jake Delhomme throwing him passes once again.  Delhomme missed much of the 2007 season with a serious elbow injury and is still returning to form following surgery.  But Smith says Delhomme has looked good in the Panthers summer school workouts.  The Panthers offense struggled mightily without Delhomme last season, but Smith still was able to produce his usual stellar numbers.  Smith had 87 receptions for more than one-thousand yards and seven touchdowns in 2007.  He is also happy the Panthers upgraded their depth at wide receiver.  The Panthers brought veteran Muhsin Muhammad back to Carolina and signed former Seahawk D.J. Hackett in the offseason.
