The NFL schedule was released Tuesday, and the Panthers will open at San Diego on September 7th.  The Panthers will then play Chicago in their home opener September 14th.  Carolina will get one prime time game next season, a December 8th Monday night contest against Tampa Bay at Bank of America Stadium.  Other schedule highlights include a game at the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants on December 21st.  The Panthers will play five of their first eight games at home, but four of their final six contests will be on the road.  Carolina went 7-and-9 in 2007.
