Panthers Release QB Carr

The Panthers released quarterback David Carr Wednesday. Carr’s release had been expected after the former number-one overall draft pick struggled mightily in his first season with the Panthers. He started four games for the Panthers last year, throwing three touchdown passes and five interceptions. His release is expected to save the team more than $2-million in cap room.
