Muhammad

The Panthers may be close to signing former Bears wide out Muhsin Muhammad according to one report.  ProFootballTalk.com states that the deal to bring Muhammad to the Panthers would pay him $1.5 mil per season.  The 34-year-old started his career in Carolina, and played nine years there before moving to the Bears before the 2005 season.  His best year with the Panthers was 2004, when he caught 93 passes for 1405 yards and 16 touchdowns, by far his best numbers of his career.  Last season in Chicago he caught just 40 balls for 570 yards and three scores.  The story says that should he come back to the Panthers he would compete with Dwayne Jarrett for the No. 2 receiver spot across the field from Steve Smith.
