The Panthers desire to go after Alge Crumpler appears to be over, as sources are stating that the Panthers have pulled out of the sweepstakes for the services of the 30-year-old tight end. Crumpler has talked to a number of teams, and is looking for a rather large payday, reportedly about $4 mil per season. Crumpler led the Falcons in receiving in two of the past three seasons, last year pulling in 42 passes for 444 yards and five TD’s. The Panthers have Jeff King, who last season caught 46 passes for 406 yards and two TD’s. Other teams that have been talking about bringing in Crumpler include the Bucs, Bills, Lions, and Titans.
