Linebacker Dan Morgan’s injury-riddled tenure with the Panthers has come to an end. The Panthers released Morgan and guard Mike Wahle Monday. Morgan was a first-round draft pick by the Panthers in 2001 and is the third-leading tackler in team history. The 29-year-old Morgan missed the last 13 games of 2007 with an Achilles injury. He played in only game in 2006 after sustaining his fifth concussion. Morgan appeared in only 59 games during his stint with the Panthers. He made the Pro Bowl in 2004. The 30-year-old Wahle joined the Panthers as a free agent in 2005 and started 45 games over the last three seasons.
