Panthers general manager Marty Hurney has confirmed to the “Charlotte Observer” that both he and coach John Fox will return to the team next season.  Hurney tells the “Observer” that he and Fox held an out-of-town meeting with owner Jerry Richardson last week.  The NFL Network reported last month that Fox and Hurney would be back in 2008, but Richardson has not made himself available to reporters or issued a statement since the season ended.  There had been speculation that Fox and Hurney could be on the way out after the Panthers went 7-and-9 and missed the playoffs for the second straight season.
