Panthers Host Seahawks Sunday

The Panthers will try to keep their faint playoff hopes alive when they host the Seattle Seahawks Sunday.  The Panthers are 5-and-8 with three games left in the regular season.  The struggling Panthers have dropped six of their last seven games after opening the season 4-and-2.  Quarterback Vinny Testaverde did not practice again Thursday, but coach John Fox says the 44-year-old is not injured.  The 9-and-4 Seahawks have already clinched the NFC West title but are looking to improve their playoff seeding.  Seattle has reeled off five straight wins.  The Panthers and Seahawks played in the NFC Championship game during the 2005 season, with Seattle winning 34-14 and advancing to the Super Bowl.  Kickoff Sunday is set for 1:00 p.m. at Bank of America Stadium.

Delhomme will be the 1st string quarterback for this team – provided he’s healthy – next year. Still, what we saw today is the makings of something positive for Carolina Fans to talk about – FINALLY. We beat a legitimate team with solid defense and competent quarterback play. While this will be Jakes team, if Moore continues to play the way he did today, he will have a future as a Panther. We’ve lacked a solid backup ever since Jake took over from Rodney Peete. Moore showed some jitters, but all in all, a great game. KUDOS to the defense as well. They played extremely well against a good offense. The wind helped to slow the Seattle passing game, but the D showed up. It’ll be interesting to see if we can keep the positive momentum when Dallas rolls in next week.
