Quarterback Vinny Testaverde was able to play Sunday, but he could not ignite the offense in a 20-13 loss to Atlanta. Testaverde missed practice on Friday with a lingering Achilles injury, and it was not known until Sunday if he would be able to play. The 43-year-old Testaverde completed 13-of-28 passes for 153 yards. He completed five passes to Steve Smith for a total of 61 yards. The Panthers had only 235 yards of total offense. DeShaun Foster could muster only 59 yards on 20 carries. David Carr also missed the game as he continues to recover from a concussion. Matt Moore served as the backup for the Panthers and was intercepted on Carolina’s last play of the game.
