DT Jenkins Fined $7,500 for Hit on Manning
Posted by Matt Loede on November 2nd, 2007 filed in NewsAs if losing to the Colts was not bad enough, one Panther is going to be a little light in the pocketbook when his next check comes. Defensive tackle Kris Jenkins was hit with a $7500 fine today by the league for a late hit in last Sunday’s loss to the Colts. The hit came in the third quarter when Jenkins was called for a 15-yard roughing the passer penalty for picking up QB Peyton Manning and driving his right shoulder into the turf after the quarterback had thrown a pass late in the third quarter. Manning may have lost his senses for a few moments, as he called a timeout after the play and came to the sideline for smelling salts. It’s not known if Jenkins will appeal the fine.
