NFC South Lead Still Belongs to Panthers

Despite their struggles at home this season, the Panthers cling to first place in the NFC South.  The Panthers are 0-and-3 at Bank of America Stadium but lead the division with a 4-and-3 overall record.  That’s good for a half-game lead over Tampa Bay.  New Orleans has won three straight games and is now one game out of first place.  Carolina will put its perfect road record on the line Sunday with a visit to 5-and-2 Tennessee.  The Panthers are 4-and-0 away from home this season.  Quarterback Vinny Testaverde is listed as day-to-day with a strained Achilles tendon.  David Carr played the second half against Indianapolis, but he is still not fully recovered form a back injury.  The team will return to the practice field later today.
