Panthers Enjoy Weekend Off

Panthers players will enjoy a long weekend as the team has reached its bye week.  The Panthers have won two straight games entering their off week, but the break will give quarterback David Carr a chance to heal.  Carr has been bothered by a sore back but expects to be healthy when the Panthers host Indianapolis a week from Sunday.  Coach John Fox has not announced if Carr or 43-year-old Vinny Testaverde will start against the Colts.  Carolina is 4-and-2 and is tied for the NFC South lead with Tampa Bay.
