Fox Responds to Jenkins Comments

Panthers coach John Fox says he understands the frustration of Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kris Jenkins, who called the team’s effort “garbage” after Sunday’s 20-7 home loss to Tampa Bay.  Jenkins went off on a tirade in the locker room after Sunday’s game, saying he was embarrassed and his heart hurt after the game.  The Panthers have dropped both of their home games, and their opponents have outscored them 54-14 at Bank of America Stadium since they led Houston 14-0.  Fox says everybody is searching for answers, but he feels their problem was more in execution than effort.  Fox also says that quarterback Jake Delhomme remains day-to-day with an elbow injury, and adds there has been no update on the status of linebacker Dan Morgan.  The 2-and-2 Panthers visit winless New Orleans Sunday.

As far as the Panthers go, it looks as if all they are doing on Sundays is playing for a paycheck. They have no heart and no drive. People will say, “Well, they lost their defensive heart when Mintor retired.” I am sorry, they are getting paid thousands of reasons to get up for every game and play with all their heart and soul. If they are not willing to do that and make excuses and for the money they are being paid, they have no excuse, then they need to quit cheating the fans and the company out of money and go to work for someone else. Panthers, get off your butts and earn your money. Quit being quiters and making excuses and go do your job. Oh by the way, is Peppers still on the team this year? Gentlemen, when you signed those contracts, you gave up any right to excuses and failure. Earn your money, starting now, if you don’t want to leave and go somewhere else.
