Testaverde Misses Practice; Carr Seems Likley to Start vs Titans
Quarterback Vinny Testaverde missed practice on Wednesday, and because of that it appears likely that David Carr will get the start Sunday when the Panthers play at Tennessee Sunday. The 43-year-old Testaverde has a right Achilles injury that he hurt even more Sunday in the teams 31-7 loss to the Colts at home. Carr wrapped […]

Despite their struggles at home this season, the Panthers cling to first place in the NFC South. The Panthers are 0-and-3 at Bank of America Stadium but lead the division with a 4-and-3 overall record. That’s good for a half-game lead over Tampa Bay. New Orleans has won three straight games and is now one game […]

Panthers star wide receiver Steve Smith was largely a forgotten man during Sunday’s 31-7 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Smith had only two receptions for 18 yards against the Colts, with both catches coming in the first quarter. He had a season-high 10 catches in the Panthers last game against Arizona two weeks ago. Following team practice Wednesday, Panthers coach John Fox didn’t do much to settle the question of who would start at quarterback against the Colts Sunday, but he did say David Carr would play if he is healthy.
