Fox Pleased with Panthers Week One Effort

Panthers coach John Fox used his Monday press conference to praise several of his players for their efforts in Sunday’s season-opening win at St. Louis.  Fox says quarterback Jake Delhomme, who threw three touchdowns and no interceptions, made some of his best plays when he simply threw the ball away instead of forcing a throw.  [...]

Offense Wakes Up in Second Half for Panthers

The Panthers offense turned it up in the second half of Sunday’s 27-13 season-opening win at St. Louis.  The Panthers scored only seven points in the first half but outscored the Rams 20-3 in the second half.  Jake Delhomme threw a pair of touchdowns passes to Drew Carter and found Steve Smith for a 68-yard score.  [...]

Panthers Open Season with Win in St.Louis 27-13

The Panthers defeated the St. Louis Rams 27-13 in the season opener Sunday.  Jake Delhomme connected with Steve Smith for a 68-yard touchdown pass, and Drew Carter hauled in two touchdown receptions for the Panthers.  Carolina outscored St. Louis 13-0 in the fourth quarter.  Linebacker Dan Morgan played his first regular season game in a year [...]
