QB hurt

The Panthers breathed a sigh of relief regarding quarterback Jake Delhomme Monday.  Coach John Fox announced that Delhomme has a strained right elbow and will not need surgery.  Fox says Delhomme will be listed as day-to-day.  Delhomme was injured when he was sacked by John Abraham in the Panthers 27-20 victory at Atlanta Sunday.  He initially stayed in the game but left grasping his elbow after another pass attempt.  Backup David Carr replaced Delhomme and would start Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay if Delhomme can’t play.  The Panthers had no update on the status of linebacker Dan Morgan.  Morgan suffered shoulder, heel and hamstring injuries against the Falcons.
