The news was not all good for the Panthers Sunday. The Panthers defeated NFC South rival Atlanta 27-20 at the Georgia Dome, but starting quarterback Jake Delhomme left the game with an apparent elbow injury. Delhomme left the game late in the third quarter with the scored tied 17-17. He was originally hurt when he was sacked by Atlanta’s John Abraham but continued to play. Delhomme later grabbed his elbow after a pass and had to leave the game. Backup quarterback David Carr was 3-for-4 for 56 yards and engineered two scoring drives for the Panthers. Delhomme will be evaluated today. Linebacker Dan Morgan also left the game with a hamstring injury.
