Panthers Set Sights on Falcons

The Panthers were back on the practice field Wednesday as they gear up for Sunday’s trip to Atlanta. Three player’s missed yesterday’s practice. Safety Deke Cooper sat out with a groin injury. But Cooper told reporters he expects to play Sunday. Defensive end Stanley McClover was out with a thigh injury, and reserve linebacker Adam Seward sat out with an injured calf. The Panthers are 1-and-1 after last Sunday’s 34-21 loss to Houston. The 0-and-2 Falcons signed quarterback Byron Leftwich Tuesday, but Joey Harrington will remain the starter for Sunday’s game. The Panthers will practice later today.
