Offense Wakes Up in Second Half for Panthers

The Panthers offense turned it up in the second half of Sunday’s 27-13 season-opening win at St. Louis.  The Panthers scored only seven points in the first half but outscored the Rams 20-3 in the second half.  Jake Delhomme threw a pair of touchdowns passes to Drew Carter and found Steve Smith for a 68-yard score.  Smith had seven catches for 118 yards.  The Panthers also chewed up the Rams defense for 186 yards rushing.  DeShaun Foster rushed for 94 yards and DeAngelo Williams added 62.
